LAPD To Host DUI Check Points Across LA Through April 11

With a series of DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols, Los Angeles police will be on the lookout for intoxicated drivers April 9-11.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Los Angeles police will be on the lookout for intoxicated drivers this weekend with a series DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols.

With bars open and restaurants reopened and more people on the roads again, police are warning of the increased dangers of drunken drivers on the road.

According to the LAPD, checkpoint locations are chosen based on a history of DUI crashes and arrests. During the checkpoint, officers will look for signs that drivers are under the influence of alcohol and or drugs.

“The safety of our community is and always will be our mission,” Commander Woodyard, Commanding Officer, Traffic Group, said. “We are still out there looking for impaired drivers because driving under the influence is still dangerous.”

· DUI Checkpoint from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Roscoe Boulevard and Gloria Avenue in North Hills

· DUI Saturation Patrol from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. in the San Fernando Valley

· DUI Checkpoint from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Figueroa Street and York Boulevard

Sunday, April 11, 2021

· DUI Checkpoint from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Manchester Avenue and Main Street
