LASD Investigates Threatening Social Media Post In Lakewood
Sheriff's deputies said that the person named in the threatening Reddit post was cooperating with investigators.
LAKEWOOD, CA — Officials on Sunday morning were investigating a threat of violence targeting the Lakewood area, which was posted to social media, a spokesperson from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department told Patch.
The person named in the Reddit post was reportedly cooperating with the investigation, officials tweeted.
The user in the post said they would be shooting "every minority in sight" and targeting council members of the city. The post included a photo of a firearm.

It is unclear who actually authored the post.
"We are aware of the threat against Lakewood and city officials posted on social media," Lakewood Council Member Todd Rogers tweeted. "Law enforcement does not believe they are credible but an investigation is underway."
