California has the lowest coronavirus rates of any state currently. That means there is a lot to look forward to this summer. International travel through LAX is expected to spike by 300 percent and Disney has opened its Avengers campus, which is expected to draw crowds all summer long.

2. For the first time in decades, the city of Long Beach took control of the legendary Queen Mary, which is reportedly in danger of sinking without major repairs. State officials vowed to get her back into ship shape, but the price tag will be titanic (More on Patch).
3. Awww! Two rehabilitated sea lions were released back into the ocean with help from the Marine Mammal Care Center and Terranea Resort (More on Patch).
4. Police say they arrested a 300-pound man who randomly beat a woman as she pumped gas, and another woman said he attacked her, too on the same Day (More on Patch).
5. : Bolsa Chica Wildlife Conservationists Work To Save 2K Tern Eggs: Overhead drones scared mothers away from thousands of tern eggs at Bolsa Chica Wildlife Preserves, as helpers try to save them.
