Los Angeles School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School And More

LOS ANGELES, CA — The first day of school in Los Angeles is August 14 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Los Angeles School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

• 8/14: First Day of School

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)

November

• 11/12: No School (Veterans Day Observed)
• 11/19-11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Vacation)

December

• 12/17-1/4: No School (Winter Holiday)

January

• 1/7: Second Semester Begins
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/18: No School (Presidents' Day Holiday)

April

• 4/1: No School (Cesar E. Chavez Birthday Observed)
• 4/15-4/19: No School (Spring Recess)

May

• 5/27: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/7: Last Day of Instruction
