Mamma Bear And Cub Take Over Popluar LA Area Hiking Trail
Authorities have received several reports about a pair of bears ambling along the Sierra Oak Trail over several days.
CASTAIC, CA — A bear and her cub seen in Castaic for the past couple of days have been spotted Friday in that same area, but have yet to act aggressively toward any local residents, a sheriff's lieutenant said.
Although an approximate time of when the pair was first seen Friday is unclear, the duo has been observed ambling along the Sierra Oak Trail, according to a watch commander at the sheriff's Santa Clarita station.
A California Highway Patrol unit has been monitoring the bear and cub and a sheriff's deputy is en route to the scene, he said.
