Man Trapped Under Pipe At Wilshire Blvd. Construction Site Freed
A man is in critical condition after being freed by Los Angeles County firefighters from underneath a heavy pipe Tuesday.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A man is in critical condition after being trapped under a large pipe at a construction site on Wilshire Boulevard Tuesday afternoon. Los Angeles Firefighters rescued the man and aided a second person who was injured in the incident.
"Firefighters extricated one male trapped patient and he is being transported in critical condition (age unknown)," said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart. "One additional patient is being transported with non-life-threatening injuries."
The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 11500 block of West Wilshire Boulevard, according to Stewart. Crews explored the safest way to free the trapped man and reported that they had freed him by 3:21 p.m.
