Metro Train Operator Shot On Metro L Line Train Platform
Police are looking for the shooter who wounded a Metro train operator at the Indiana Station Metro station Friday morning.
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA — A Metro train operator was shot Friday morning at the train platform at the Indiana Station in East Los Angeles. The shooting forced the closure of the Indiana Station as authorities scour the crime scene and search for the shooter.
The train operator remains hospitalized in stable condition. Police hope someone will come forward with information about the attack. The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority is offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to the identification, apprehension and conviction of the shooter.
"This was a brazen act of violence against a defenseless Metro operator," Dave Sotero of Metro said.

The shooting happened just after 4 a.m. Friday on the platform of the station for the Metro L Line trains, said Sotero of Metro. The suspect fled and was being sought.
Authorities closed the Indiana Station and advised rail passengers to use buses during the closure, which was lifted late Friday morning.

"Earlier today one of our rail operators was shot at Indiana Station and is hospitalized," Metro said in a statement. "We wish him a safe recovery and will continue to support the operator and his family."
Information on the man's identity or years of service was not released.
Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call Metro security at 888-950-SAFE.
