Person Dies Inexplicably On I-15 In Lake Elsinore
Passersby tried to help a person who was seen lying next to an open car door on the side of Interstate 15.
LAKE ELSINORE, CA — A person died Saturday on Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore, but the circumstances of the death were unclear.
At 1:40 p.m., the California Highway Patrol received a report that a person was lying on the ground beside the driver's door of a vehicle stopped on the southbound side of the freeway near Main Street.
A caller told a CHP dispatcher that multiple drivers stopped to provide aid and that someone was attempting to perform CPR on the person lying on the ground.

About 40 minutes later, the Riverside County coroner's office was called to the scene.
The CHP shut down the southbound I-15's No. 1 lane for the death investigation.
