Pet Adoption Fees Reduced For 'Empty the Shelters' Event

The SpcaLA "Empty the Shelters" campaign runs through Sunday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — Angelenos can adopt cats or dogs for just $25 during a 5-day "Empty the Shelters" campaign that began Wednesday.

Two participating shelters include spcaLA's shelters in Long Beach and Hawthorne. The event, which runs through Sunday, is sponsored by the Bissell Pet Foundation. SpcaLA pet adoption centers remain closed to the public, and pet adoptions are currently being handled online. To adopt a pet, go to spcaLA.com/adopt and click "Apply to Adopt."

The "Empty the Shelters" event has helped 49,000 pets from 365 shelters find loving homes. This is the fourth "Empty the Shelters" event in which the spcaLA has participated since 2020, officials said.
