Police Chase Ends With A Phone Call On The 101 Freeway

A speeding suspect led the CHP on a chase from Ventura County to the Woodland Hills area, and stopped after the CHP called his phone.

WOODLAND HILLS, CA — A police chase ended on the Ventura (101) Freeway Wednesday morning with a phone call.

A call from the California Highway Patrol apparently accomplished what lights and sirens couldn't. A motorist wanted for allegedly speeding led the CHP on a chase from Ventura County to the Woodland Hills area, where he finally pulled over to the shoulder and surrendered after the CHP reached him on his cellphone, according to a broadcast report.

The brief chase ended AT about 11:30 a.m. on the southbound Ventura (101) Freeway near Fallbrook Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
