Patch Pick: A two-year-old in Los Angeles became the nation's youngest American Mensa Member thanks to her IQ of 146, which is nearly 50 points higher than that of the average American. Unlike a certain Patch editor, she can identify all 50 states on a map (More on Patch).

- Krystal Duhaney and her husband, Patrick, recently hid $1,000 in cash inside baby products at various Target stores in Southern California. The pair wanted to do something special and unexpected for other parents struggling to make ends meet (More on Patch).
- Los Angeles treasure Danny Trejo is opening up another Trejo's Tacos, this time on the Westside. Talk about a triple threat — in addition to his tacos, the actor has Trejo's Cervesa and a donut shop. Remember when he saved a baby trapped in the wreckage of a crash in Sylmar? (More on Patch).
- Someone in LA County bought a winning SuperLotto ticket. Hopefully, the winner doesn't destroy the ticket in the laundry like that poor lady in Norwalk this month who supposedly had the winning ticket for the $26 million jackpot. (More on Patch).
- A National Park Service biologist heard some meowing and discovered three bobcat kittens and their mother deep inside the cavity of a tree hollowed out by the Woolsey Fire. They are unimaginably adorable (More on Patch).
- Describing Los Angeles as "crying for help right now," U.S. District Judge David O. Carter blasted community leaders for the systematic racism that created Skid Row and the ongoing failure to house tens of thousands of people living on the streets. "The inertia that's occurred is causing untold loss of life," he said. Councilman Kevin de Leon agreed, calling Skid Row an "open-air prison" and a humanitarian crisis (More on Patch).
