Shooting Triggers Utah Street Elementary School Lockdown
Students at Utah Elementary School and Mendez Learning Center in East LA were placed on lockdown and will be released under police escort.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Utah Street Elementary School and Mendez Learning Center in East Los Angeles were placed on lockdown due to a possible shooting in the area Tuesday afternoon., according to Los Angeles School Police.
Students at Utah Elementary School on Gabriel Garcia Marquez Street will be released on a modified schedule while being escorted from the school auditorium by police.
Mendez Learning Center, on the other hand, will remain on lockdown, according to Los Angeles School Police.
