SigAlert: 30K Pounds Of Spilt Noodles Shut Down 110 Freeway
The SigAlert issued for the northbound 110 Freeway in the Gardena area was expected to last for nine hours.
LOS ANGELES, CA — An overturned big rig spilt 30,000 pounds of noodles on the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway in Gardena Monday, triggering an hours-long SigAlert.
Three lanes of the northbound Harbor (110) Freeway, at Rosecrans Avenue, in the Gardena area were closed due to an overturned big rig, according to Caltrans. The crash happened just before 2 p.m., Monday, and officials expected to remain on the scene cleaning up the noodles until 10:30 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The overturned trailer was blocking the 3, 4 and 5 lanes with all traffic being diverted to the number 1 lane to get around the crash.

Caltrans District 7 reported that crews were still working to clear the noodles at 8:30 p.m. and were expected to remain at the scene until 10:30 p.m.
One person was taken to a hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department, according to the LAFD's Brian Humphrey, but no information about the patient was available.
