Stephen Mackelprang’s Book “The Hop About” Inspires Readers
"The Hop About" is based on Mackelprang's real life experiences and all that he has overcome and risen above, as a dual amputee.

Stephen Mackelprang’s story which he recalls in his book, “The Hop Along,” was published in late 2020 by publisher Austin Macauley. This book is about taking the power of perseverance to a whole new level, while author Mackelprang didn’t let the fact that he is a dual amputee stop him, in fact he motivated himself to persevere no matter what, to continue on his quest for adventure and exploration, which is a true passion for the author. According to publisher Austin Macauley, “The author is a man who experienced the dark side of life,” and yet his “focus is on the light. He’s a renaissance man; skilled at much, yet master of nothing, except making the best of what’s at hand.” Continuing, “After seeking a profession as a medical doctor, specifically in pain management, Stephen Mackelprang found that the best medicine one can deliver is laughter with an extra dose of inspiration.” According to one reader, Mackelprangs’s book is simply “too incredible to be made up,” describing it as an “outrageous true story about an addiction to painkillers.
