If you've got a little one at home who loves dogs, check out the Sun Valley Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library on a Tuesday afternoon this summer. Bark: Read to the Dogs is a story telling event in which kids of all ages join a library staff member in reading a classic children's tale out loud to local therapy dogs Sydney and Nigel. The event is free to attend and readers of all skill levels are encouraged to come.

Celebrate Father's Day with a fun-filled story at your neighborhood Barnes and Noble. Follow the adventures of four different father-child pairs as they spend the day racing around in shopping carts, popping bubble wrap and watching cartoons with their kids! No matter how grown up these dads might look, they still love to do silly stuff with their little ones. After the story, you can participate in a hands-on activity designed to help bring the book to life. Father's Day Storytime starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 17th.
Spend an afternoon with Los Angeles' finest at the Vermont Square Branch of the Los Angeles Public Library. Read Along with LAPD is a recurring weekly event in which members of the Los Angeles Police Department choose an engaging children's book and host their own story time! Kids of all ages are welcome to attend. This event is free and open to the general public.
