Tujunga Canyon Brush Fire Knocked Down

An aggressive firefighting effort kept a brush fire in Big Tujunga Canyon in the Angeles National Forest to less than an acre.

The fire was reported at 7:16 a.m. in the 800 block of Big Tujunga Canyon Road, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Franklin Lopez.

TUJUNGA, CA — Firefighters made quick work of a one-eighth-acre brush fire Friday morning in Big Tujunga Canyon in the Angeles National Forest.

The fire was reported at 7:16 a.m. in the 800 block of Big Tujunga Canyon Road, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman Franklin Lopez.

Firefighters were on the scene at 7:30 a.m. and had the flames out at 8:05 a.m., Lopez said. They were aided by water-dropping helicopters.

No structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
