Woman Shot By Man Knocking At Her Front Door In Alhambra
According to police, a man knocked on a door in Alhambra, asked for the resident by name, and shot her repeatedly when she came to the door.
ALHAMBRA, CA — A woman answered her door in Alhambra Monday night only to be shot repeatedly by the man standing at her front door. Now the 30-year-old woman is fighting for her life, and police are looking for her shooter.
Alhambra police Tuesday asked for the public's help in finding the shooter. The shooting occurred just before 10 p.m. in the 1600 block of South Benito Avenue, and the gunman appears to have specifically targeted his victim, according to the Alhambra Police Department. Officers responded to a 911 call at the address and arrived to find the victim in critical condition.
"The caller reported that an unknown male subject knocked on the front door of a residence, asked for a resident by name, and shot her several times with a handgun when she came to the door," according to a police statement.

According to Alhambra police, the suspect was described as 20-30 years old and 6 feet 3 inches tall, with a heavyset build. He wore a black sweater and blue jeans, and was armed with a semiautomatic handgun.
The woman was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition, police said. Her name was not released.
