Age Of Google's Director Of Engineering Not An Issue: Report

Ray Kurzweil is featured in AARP's summer magazine issue as a veteran, elder in the heart of tech land.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Ray Kurzweil is defying the notion that the Silicon Valley is all about youth.

The 71-year-old has been a director of engineering at Google since 2012, according to a report in the recent edition of AARP, the American Association of Retired Persons. But Kurzweil is anything but.

The well-known futurist, inventor and entrepreneur may have an even greater following after being singled out by AARP magazine this summer. The short profile on Kurzweil was part of "The New Age" project. This was “a portfolio of photographs and stories that reveal the ways aging has changed in America and across the globe.”
