New Singaporean Restaurant To Open In Mountain View

Killiney Kopitiam will open in San Antonio Village later this year.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Killiney Kopitiam is Singapore’s oldest cafe. It is now being franchised in the United States, and one of the first restaurants will be in Mountain View.

Singapore native Amanda Toh Steckler is Killiney Kopitiam’s master franchisee for the U.S. Her goal, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, is to take Singaporean food mainstream in America.

The Killiney Kopitiam menu includes curries, nasi lemak, and roti prata with an eye toward expanding selections.

Steckler plans to open restaurants in Mountain View, Cupertino, Santa Clara, Walnut Creek, and Livermore this year. Once she conquers the Bay Area, she will expand to Southern California and Washington.
