MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — A second victim has come forward in connection with a kidnapping attempt in Mountain View Monday night, police said Thursday.

The unidentified woman reported to police that suspect Jeremiah Porter, 33, entered her home around 9:30 p.m. Monday and held her and her young daughter hostage for about 30 minutes before leaving the property.

The alleged incident occurred about an hour before Porter allegedly broke into the Montelena Court home of a 53-year-old woman in an effort to force her into her vehicle to help him flee the area.

According to police, the victim in the earlier case did not initially report it because she said Porter violently threatened her and her daughter if they contacted the police. She only felt comfortable reporting it after seeing Porter's arrest for the alleged attempted kidnapping.

Officers were able to find and arrest Porter around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, when the department's dispatch center received a report of a man throwing rocks at windows and yelling around the same area of the alleged kidnapping attempt. Officers eventually found him on the roof of a carport and got him down using a ladder, according to police.
