Bay Area's 'Curry Up Now' Stars In TV's 'Ugly Delicious'
A San Jose locale of the Indian-phenom restaurant, that started with a food truck in Burlingame, is featured on the upcoming Netflix series.
SAN JOSE, CA — With beginnings as a Burlingame food truck, peddling unique Indian cuisine, and evolving in a decade into a rapid-fire-growing restaurant chain, Curry Up Now clearly is ready for its close-up with an upcoming featured spot on "Ugly Delicious" on Netflix.
The eatery, intent on putting an unconventional spin on conventional Indian cuisine, caught the eye of the Netflix's series, a combo roadie-foodie show, starring James Beard Award-winning chef David Chang.
In the second "Ugly Delicious" season, the upcoming episode "Don't Call It Curry" spotlights Indian food and eateries, including Curry Up Now. The restaurant was approached by the show's production team as they scouted restaurants in the Bay Area, and the scenes were filmed at the San Jose locale on Zanker Road, according to a company spokesperson.
