Caltrain Strikes, Kills Person On Mtn. View Castro Street Tracks
Mountain View's fatal crash called in at 7:48 p.m. Monday was the second for Caltrain in one day.
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — The second fatal incident in one day, a person was fatally struck by Caltrain on the tracks at Castro Street in Mountain View Monday night, halting rail movement so emergency personnel could investigate the scene, Caltrain reported.
The southbound train No. 284 had 118 passengers on board, but no one on the train was hurt in the 7:48 p.m. incident.
The northbound tracks were reopened at 8:25 p.m. Southbound tracks opened up about an hour later.

This is Caltrain’s ninth fatality of 2019.
