Fire Crews Knocked Down Apartment Blaze In 15 Minutes

The fire called in Wednesday night off Dale Avenue was isolated to a first-floor apartment.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- No one was injured in an apartment fire on Wednesday in Mountain View, fire officials said.

Flames and smoke were reported at a two-story apartment building in the 1200 block of Dale Avenue at about 7 p.m., and firefighters responded to find it isolated to a first-floor apartment. The fire did not spread to other units and was extinguished in about 15 minutes, according to fire officials.

Residents got out of the unit and the occupants in the rest of the building were told to evacuate, then later returned to their homes. One resident chose to stay with friends nearby and did not require further assistance.

Damage to the apartment was estimated at about $50,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
