Homeless Man's Viral Resume: 'I Just Wanted 1 Person To Notice'
After a photo of him standing on a Silicon Valley street corner handing out his resume went viral, things are looking up for David Casarez.

SILICON VALLEY, CA —A homeless, out-of-work web developer has reportedly received interest from internet giants including Google, Netflix and LinkedIn — all thanks to the kindness of a stranger. On Friday, Jasmine Scofield saw David Casarez standing on a street corner in Mountain View holding a sign that read: “Homeless. Hungry 4 Success. Take A Resume.”
Onto Twitter she went, posting: “Today I saw this young homeless man asking for people to take a resume rather than asking for money. If anyone in the Silicon Valley could help him out, that would be amazing. Please RT so we can help David out!”
The photo went viral, with Scofield sharing an update that Casarez had already been contacted by some of the largest tech companies.

“All I wanted was for one person to notice, for one person to get my resume and give me an opportunity,” Casarez explained in one interview.

He came to Silicon Valley with a dream of launching his own tech startup because, according to Casarez: "If you play with the big dogs there is where you have to be."
But lately, after losing his car because he could no longer afford the payments, he’s been sleeping at a park in Mountain View.
In an update via Twitter, Casarez said the outpouring of support continues. Patch reached out to him via email and will update this post should we hear back about whether he has since secured a job.
As for Scofield, she did not expect the overwhelming response.
“I’ve gone as far as I can with my ability to help, he can now take the reigns,” Scofield wrote.
