A 33-year-old man is accused of breaking into a woman's Mountain View home and trying to force her to drive him away in her own car.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — A man was arrested early Tuesday morning in connection with a kidnapping attempt in Mountain View late Monday night, according to police.
The suspect, 33-year-old Jeremiah Porter, is alleged to have broken into the home of a 53-year-old woman on Montelena Court around 10:30 p.m. Monday. After ringing the doorbell numerous times, he burst in and tried to force her into her own vehicle to help him flee the area, police said.
The woman was able to get free from the man, who grabbed her by the neck and told her "he needed to flee the area", and ran to a neighbor's house. Police said Porter was unable to drive the woman's car and fled the scene.
