Ross to Pay Fine for Defective Children's Clothing

Have you purchased children's clothing from Mountain View's Ross?

Ross Stores has been fined $3.9 million dollars for selling defective children's clothing after it had learned of the recall, the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced last week.

In a press release, the CPSC reported that the Pleasanton-based discount retailer failed to report that between January 2009 to February 2012 it continued to sell nearly 23,000 children’s upper outerwear garments with drawstrings at the neck or waist. This recent fine, comes on the heels of another $500,000 one for an analogous situation that took place between 2006-2009.

Mountain View's Ross Store is located at the San Antonio Shopping Center.

According to the San Jose Mercury News, several children have died after their drawstrings have gotten caught in other objects.
