Symantec Cuts Staff Jobs in Mountain View

Nearly 75 more employees will be laid off as part company-wide restructuring.

Mountain View-based computer security company Symantec will reduce its workforce by 75 according to some government documents, the Silicon Valley Business Journal reported

Symantec—which announced its first quarter earnings on Tuesday, July 30th that beat analyst expectations—began its reorganization back in January and initially planned to lay off around 1,000 workers from then 20,500 employee company.

In June, reports began to surface that Symantec planned to lay off 1,700 employees. The company has yet to publicly confirm the exact number of planned reductions.
