Week Ahead: Sing-a-Long, 100 Moffett and San Antonio Road Project Development Reviews

Mix in your civic duties with some fun this week in Mountain View.

Monday, Aug. 5

Participate, or just enjoy, the 50th anniversaries of Masterworks Chorale and Schola Cantorum as the choirs perform Carl Orff's lusty and lyrical Carmina Burana at the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts. To purchase the $20 tickets for the Carmina sing visit the box office site.

Wednesday, Aug. 7

The City of Mountain View Development Review Committee will listen to Prometheus Real Estate Group's planned development proposal for the current site of the Mayview Clinic and other commercial businesses at 100 Moffett Blvd. Merlone Geier, developers of The Village at San Antonio Rd. will present their plans for phase two of their project, which includes offices and a hotel. At City Hall, 500 Castro St., 1 p.m.

Thursday, Aug. 8

Drop by Castro Street this week for Thursday Night Live! Join hundreds of people out to enjoy family-fun, live music, exhibits, the Farmer's Market and other various attractions—including the collection of vintage cars! TNL takes place between 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 9

Visit the Community School of Music and Arts newest exhibit, an installation sculpture by artist Tessie Barrera-Scharaga. Stop by the opening night reception with the artist from 6-8 pm. Free.

"Let's go to the movies! Let's go see the stars!" The City of Mountain View's Summer Outdoor Movie Night's Series, continues this Friday, Aug. 9 with "Loraz" at Whisman Park. Bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Free and open to the public. Starts after dark.
