1 Hospitalized As Major Crash In Murrieta Blocks Lanes Overnight
A semi truck flipped on the freeway in Murrieta in the early morning hours Saturday.
MURRIETA, CA โ Traffic was flowing again Saturday morning following an overnight wreck in Murrieta that blocked multiple lanes and sent one person to the hospital. The major crash happened around 1:55 a.m. on the southbound side of Interstate 215, just south of Los Alamos Road.
Preliminary California Highway Patrol logs indicated that the large truck lost control and crashed into the guardrail on the righthand shoulder of the freeway. It landed on its side, blocking the two leftmost lanes.
Then, within minutes, a sedan crashed into the wreckage, reports showed. The person in that car was trapped and firefighters had to cut them out using the jaws of life. That person, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital.

The other driver was treated at the scene, but declined transport to the hospital, according to reports from the scene.
Two lanes of the freeway were closed for several hours as crews cleared the vehicles and debris.
