Another DUI Checkpoint Planned In Southwest Riverside County

Sheriff's officials say the operation is coming up this weekend.

TEMECULA, CA โ€” Sheriff's officials will staff a DUI/driver's license checkpoint in Temecula this weekend, the agency announced. The operation is set to begin around 8 p.m. Saturday and last until 2 a.m. Sunday.

The checkpoint will occur at an undisclosed location within the city limits of Temecula, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

"DUI Checkpoints like this one are placed in locations based on collision statistics and frequency of DUI arrests," the agency said in a news release. "Deputies will be looking for signs of alcohol and / or drug impairment, along with deputies checking drivers for proper licensing."

Sheriff's officials urged all motorists to always appoint a sober driver.

The operation is funded by state and federal grants.
