Banning Man Killed in San Jacinto Wreck

The crash happened early Monday morning in San Jacinto.

Coronerโ€™s officials identified Monday a Banning man who was killed when his vehicle crashed just outside Lambs Canyon.

34-year-old Tavares Daniels died within minutes of the 1:12 a.m. crash in the area of Sanderson Avenue and the Ramona Expressway, according to the Riverside County Coronerโ€™s Bureau.

โ€œPreliminary investigation indicated a white Lexus sedan was traveling northbound on Sanderson Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle and veered left, across all lanes of traffic,โ€ sheriffโ€™s Corporal Joshua Cadenhead said of the crash. โ€œThe Lexus left the road and rolled over in the field.โ€

While the vehicle was rolling, Daniels was thrown from it, according to Cadenhead.

The Riverside County Fire Department reported that the vehicle ultimately landed an estimated 70 to 80 feet from the roadway.

There were no passengers, and itโ€™s unclear whether alcohol was a factor, officials said.

Sanderson was shut down at the location while an investigation was conducted.
