Brush Fire Breaks Out Near La Cresta

MURRIETA, CA — A small brush fire burning Wednesday morning in the area of the Santa Rosa Plateau was being quickly doused.

The 1-acre blaze reported at 10:05 a.m. in the vicinity of Clinton Kieth Road and Avenida La Cresta was burning in grass and no homes were threatened, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokesperson April Newman.

The area is near the La Cresta community in unincorporated Murrieta.

An air attack was underway on the blaze. Newman said a loaded air tanker was ready to go but in hold mode due to progress crews were making.
