Community Reaches Out To Murrieta Crash Family

More than $61,000 had been raised as of Thursday afternoon for the Jackson family.

MURRIETA, CA โ€” The loss of a Murrieta woman in a car crash Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Clinton Keith and California Oaks roads continues to be felt as the community reaches out to the family with donations via a GoFundMe page.

More than $61,000 had been raised as of Thursday afternoon for the Jackson family.

Brandon Jackson was driving eastbound on Clinton Keith Road around 3:17 p.m. with his wife, Nancy, when his vehicle struck a westbound Toyota minivan as it turned left onto California Oaks Road.

The crash impact caused Jackson's Nissan to slam into a signal pole and the couple was ejected. Nancy died at the scene. Brandon, who is a military veteran, photographer, and real estate agent, was hospitalized with major injuries.

Two other vehicles were hit by wreckage debris during the crash but there were no additional injuries. While the crash cause remains under investigation, alcohol and/or drugs do not appear to be factors, police said.

"There are no words to describe the devastation that Nancy's family is feeling," the GoFundMe page reads. "The last thing any person wants to worry about while suffering the loss of their loved one is whether or not they can come up with funds in a timely manner for a funeral.

"During this extremely difficult time we are asking for your help so that the family can grieve without worrying about the expenses. Brandon will also be out of work for some time as he works to heal his body," the page continued.

The couple's young son, Braxton, was not with them in the vehicle. Additional funds raised beyond the funeral costs will help Jackson "with costs of keeping the home that he and Braxton shared with Nancy," the GoFundMe page reads.
