Crash Delays Traffic On I-15 In Murrieta

MURRIETA, CA — A crash on southbound Interstate 15 at California Oaks Road in Murrieta snarled traffic Thursday afternoon.

The two-vehicle wreck was reported around 2:16 p.m.

A white van overturned during the crash and landed off the freeway, on the righthand side.

A black Nissan sedan was also involved in the incident, according to preliminary information from the California Highway Patrol's CAD system.

According to the CHP, the crash resulted in minor injuries.

Traffic was delayed in the area as crews worked to clear lanes. As of 2:50 p.m., the CHP reported traffic would be allowed through "soon."

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the CHP. Rainy weather and wet roadways have persisted throughout the day, with heavier showers expected Thursday night.
