MENIFEE, CA โ€” CVS Health began administering COVID-19 vaccines to eligible populations on Thursday at 100 CVS Pharmacy locations across California, and one site in Menifee was participating, according to the company's website.

The vaccine was being offered free of charge and by appointment only, but efforts to register online for an appointment at the Menifee store located at 29171 Newport Road were challenging Thursday due to heavy online traffic. Patients are required to register in advance at CVS.com or through the CVS Pharmacy app. People without online access can contact CVS customer service: 800-746-7287. Walk-in vaccinations without an appointment will not be provided.

To receive the vaccine, participants must meet state criteria.

As more supply becomes available CVS will expand to more locations and offer additional appointments, the company said.
