Diamond Valley Writers Guild Presents Annual Poetry Appreciation Event

Howard Feigenbaum, author, poet and photographer, will lead the discussion on Aug. 26.

From DV Writers Guid: The Diamond Valley Writers Guild presents its Second Annual Appreciation of Poetry with Discussions and Readings. The two-hour program will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2017, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., at the Hemet Public Library.

The theme of the workshop is โ€œDoes Poetry Still Matter? The Beauty, History and Importance of Poetry in Modern Life.โ€

Following a discussion of the art of poetry, audience members are invited to read a poem or two, written by themselves or others, and share why the selection is meaningful to them.

The public is invited to attend and enjoy the experience of hearing poetry read as the writer intended it to be heard.

Howard Feigenbaum, author, poet and photographer, will lead the discussion. Mr. Feigenbaum has won several Best of Show awards in Poetry at the Diamond Valley Arts Council's Festival of the Arts. He is the author of a poetry book, How to Cook a Turkey and Other Poems, as well as several action/adventure novels and a childrenโ€™s book.

The Diamond Valley Writers Guild is an umbrella organization for writers in Riverside County. Writers of all genres gather to share information and promote the writing arts. The Guild holds meetings on the fourth Saturday of the month between January and October at the Hemet Public Library. The Guildโ€™s website is www.dvwritersguild.org.
