Fiery, Deadly Crash Blocks I-215 In Murrieta
The southbound side of the interstate was closed as a result of the crash for several hours.
MURRIETA, CA โ Emergency responders were at the scene Monday for several hours of a crash on Interstate 215 in Murrieta involving at least three vehicles. At least one person died and other injuries are reported, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Reports from the scene indicate a Riverside Transit Agency bus and a pickup truck are among the vehicles involved in the wreck, which happened just before 6 a.m. along the southbound side of I-215 near Los Alamos Road.
One of the involved vehicles caught fire in the crash, and was fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters got to the scene, reports indicate. One person was declared dead shortly thereafter.

A medical helicopter was landed on the Los Alamos Road freeway onramp to rush some of the injured to the hospital.
Traffic reports indicated a major backup on Interstate 215 as a result of the crash. Lanes were not reopened until around 12:45 p.m.
