Fiery Murrieta Crash On I-15 Leads To Delays

TEMECULA, CA — Emergency personnel are at the scene Thursday of a fiery crash in the Temecula Valley. The crash, involving two vehicles, was reported around 1:30 p.m. along the northbound side of Interstate 15, just north of the Interstate 215 connector.

Preliminary California Highway Patrol reports indicate two vehicles collided and crashed into the center divider, before one of them burst into flames.

Witnesses at the scene said one of the cars had major rear-end damage — the same one that caught fire. The person inside was able to free themself before the fire started, witnesses said.

At least one person was seen being taken away in an ambulance, though the extent of injuries was not immediately known.

Traffic reports indicated a major slowdown in the area of the crash.
