Fire in Perris Slows Traffic on I-215 South

A brush fire was burning in Perris and was affecting rush-hour traffic Monday on southbound Interstate 215.

Cal Fire reported that the blaze was at 40 acres and was burning on the west side of the Interstate 215, south of 4th Street in Perris.

There were no reports of injuries or structure damage at publication time.

The "Freeway" fire broke out shortly before 4:30 p.m. Monday. As of 6 p.m., it was contained, Cal Fire reported.

Traffic was backing up on the southbound side of the freeway, Sigalert.com reported as of 6 p.m.
