Fowler Survives Round 2 at British Open

Local Murrieta golf phenom Rickie Fowler narrowly survived round two of the British Open with a three-over par.
Fowler held on at the bottom of the leaderboard at the close of round two Friday, outlasting fellow American golfer Phil Mickelson.
Fowler, 23, a 2007 graduate of Murrieta Valley High School, pulled a one-over par in round one and a two-over par in round two.

Brandt Snedeker of the U.S. headed into round three Saturday in first place with a 10-under par. In second place was the British Adam Scott, with nine-under par. Tiger Woods was in third place with six-under par.
Fowler was set to tee off in round three at 8:40 a.m. local time in England, 12:40 a.m. Pacific time.
