Free Bus Rides Offered New Year's Eve

Beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, there will be no charge to board RTA fixed-route buses.

Free rides will be offered New Yearโ€™s Eve by southwest Riverside Countyโ€™s public transportation provider, Riverside Transit Agency.

Beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, there will be no charge to board RTA fixed-route buses. RTA will be operating on regular schedules in the cities it serves, including Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, Menifee and Canyon Lake.ย 

The rides are being offered as โ€œpart of our commitment to providing a safe alternative to driving,โ€ the agency stated on its website. โ€œItโ€™s also RTAโ€™s way of saying thank you to our customers for their year-round patronage to public transportation.โ€

Those with questions about routes may call 951-565-5002. The Customer Information Center open will be open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Route information can also be found on Riversidetransit.com.

On New Year's Day, Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, buses will not operate and all RTA offices will be closed.
