70 MPH Wind Gusts Forecast In Inland Empire, NWS Issues Warning

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA โ The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for the Inland Empire starting Wednesday morning.
The high winds are forecast to kick up around 6 a.m. and last through 1 p.m. Thursday.
North winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 70 mph are expected in the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning, the Santa Ana Mountains and Foothills, Riverside County Mountains, San Bernardino County Mountains, as well as valley areas across Riverside and San Bernardino, according to the NWS.

The strongest winds are expected Wednesday evening into Wednesday night, the agency said.
Travel will be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles along Interstate 15 through and below the Cajon Pass; Interstate 215 below the Cajon Pass; and Interstate 10 through the San Gorgonio Pass, according to the NWS.

Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines, and power outages are possible, the agency said.
