Howling Winds Returning To Southwest Riverside County

Although a wind advisory will be in effect Tuesday through Thursday, temperatures are forecast to be warm.

SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA โ€” A wind advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for much of the county, including the Southwest Riverside County cities of Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Murrieta, Temecula, Wildomar and surrounding areas.

The wind advisory is in effect from 4 a.m. Tuesday to noon Thursday. All of the county's valley and mountain areas are impacted, according to the NWS.

Northeast winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 50 mph are expected.

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Driving conditions could be hazardous at times for high-profile vehicles," the NWS reported.

Stronger wind gusts will shift eastward with time, mainly affecting areas through and below the San Gorgonio Pass later Wednesday and Thursday, according to the NWS.

Daytime high temperatures across Southwest Riverside County are forecast to reach the high 70s to low 80s through the week; overnight lows will hit the high 40s to low 50s, according to the NWS.
