The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in the Inland Empire dropped Tuesday for the ninth time in 10 days, decreasing a half-cent to $3.879.

The average price in Riverside and San Bernardino counties had risen 29 times in 30 days to its highest amount since Aug. 2 immediately before the stretch of dropping prices, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 5.6 cents less than one week ago and 24.1 cents lower than one year ago, but 49 cents more than one month ago.

The prices are dropping because โ€œsupply issues seem to have been resolved,โ€ said Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern Californiaโ€™s corporate communications manager.
