One Dead In Major Murrieta Wreck Near Temecula Border

UPDATED: Police say that a 32-year-old person died at the scene of the collision.

MURRIETA, CA โ€” One person died in a major traffic collision in Murrieta early Wednesday, police report. The wreck was first reported around 7:15 a.m. near French Valley Parkway and I-15.

The wreck itself occurred at Jefferson Avenue and the intersection of French Valley Parkway/Cherry Street.

"Murrieta Police and Murrieta Fire & Rescue personnel arrived and found a 32-year-old male motorcyclist that had sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision," Murrieta police said in a news release.

Several emergency responders from the fire department, police department and paramedics responded at the scene, prompting a small closure in the area. Police asked motorists to steer clear while they investigated.

The man, who was not identified, died at the scene, according to police.

According to police, the motorcyclist was exiting the freeway at French Valley Parkway when he lost control. French Valley Parkway turns into Cherry Street at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.
