Man ID'd In Deadly Head-On Crash On Ramona Expressway

PERRIS, CA — The driver of a pickup truck killed in a head-on crash with a big rig in the unincorporated Nuevo area of Riverside County near Perris was identified Wednesday as a 51-year-old Hemet man.

Anthony Armenta died at the scene of the crash, which occurred at about 9:35 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Ramona Expressway and Lakeview Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol and the coroner's office.

A stretch of Ramona Expressway between Rider Street and Lakeview Avenue was closed until at least midnight while an investigation was conducted.
