More Development Proposed In Murrieta Hills
The 972-acre rural area could see zoning changes that would allow tract homes and commercial development.
MURRIETA, CA โ A 972-acre rural area in Murrieta could see significant zoning changes that would pave the way for more tract homes as well as commercial development, according to a city update.
The city announced Friday that a public hearing before the Murrieta Planning Commission is scheduled at 6 p.m. April 28 for the land located west of Interstate 215, south of Keller Road, immediately north of the Greer Ranch community, and abutting the cities of Menifee to the north, Wildomar to the west, and Murrieta to the south and east.
Part of the discussion at the hearing will focus on whether to amend the city's General Plan to change the zoning on the land known as the Murrieta Hills area from its current rural designations, which only allow low-density housing, to uses that would permit single-family tract homes, mixed-use developments, as well as commercial, parks and open space.
