From Mt. San Jacinto College: Mt. San Jacinto College professor Paul Hendry has written and directed a new comedy film, Mormon Dog Story, screening at the Riverside International Film Festival Wednesday, April 26, 7:10 p.m. in The Box at the Fox Entertainment Plaza, Riverside. There will be a Q&A session with the director and cast afterward.
Inspired by actual events, Mormon Dog Story explores the dark underside of the American pastoralโthink of it as โUtah Gothic.โ When an irresistible corgi is stolen, attempts to recover him tear down a townโs faรงade of stability and respectability.
Working with family, friends, and an unruly band of teachers, Hendry and creative partner Bob Hasse enjoy the freedom of zero-budget, run-and-gun filmmaking. They claim it may be the best $3,000 film ever made.
