Murrieta Announces 'City Hall Citizens Academy' For Local Residents

The free program will showcase the inner workings of City Hall to the community.

The following is a Dec. 21, 2023, news release from the city of Murrieta:

MURRIETA, CA ? The City of Murrieta is offering a City Hall Citizens Academy starting in February 2024.

This free program will showcase the inner workings of City Hall to the community.

Throughout the Academy, participants will hear from all the City departments including the City Manager?s Office, Public Safety, Economic Development, and Community Services Departments, learning what they do and how that work impacts the community. It?s also a chance to meet city leaders, ask questions, and become a more informed resident.

?We are excited to open up City Hall so residents can see the inner workings of the organization,? noted City Manager, Kim Summers. ?When residents are knowledgeable about the City and engaged with their local government, the entire community benefits."

The program will launch the morning of Saturday, February 3, followed by Thursday nights through Thursday, March 21.

After the completion of the academy, graduates will receive a certificate and special recognition at a City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

This academy is designed for Murrieta residents, business owners, and employees of businesses within the City. Special accommodations may be made for participants under the age of 18.
