Murrieta Police Chief Tony Conrad Sworn Into Office
Chief Tony Conrad, a 26-year-resident of the Murrieta/Temecula Valley told the audience, "I absolutely love working in this city."

MURRIETA, CA โ Surrounded by his family, Murrieta Police Chief Tony Conrad was sworn into office during Tuesday night's City Council meeting.
City Manager Kim Summers issued the oath of office.
Conrad, a 26-year-resident of the Murrieta/Temecula Valley told the audience, "I absolutely love working in this city."

Calling it an honor to serve alongside other Murrieta police officers and department support staff, as well as Murrieta Fire & Rescue personnel, he promised the city, "I will do a good job."
Conrad took the oath following the year-end 2020 retirement of Police Chief Sean Hadden. Conrad had been serving as interim chief after Hadden's departure. Prior, he spent two years as a Murrieta PD captain overseeing the department's operations division.

Conrad started his career with the San Diego Police Department in 1995 and served as a member of their SWAT team as well as a field training officer. He worked San Diego's mid-city division for several years before later transferring to the northern division.
The chief holds a bachelor's degree in business management from San Diego State University and a master's degree in leadership and organizational studies from Azusa Pacific University. He is also a graduate of the PERF senior police management course at Boston University.
Conrad is married to Dana, a Murrieta Valley School District teacher for the last 22 years. They have a son, AJ, who is a Murrieta Valley HS graduate and is currently attending college in Oregon where he plays football.
Following the swearing-in, the family joined in a group hug.
